ABOUT THIS COURSE

The "Development Strategies for Understanding Trauma" course provides a comprehensive exploration of trauma and its profound impacts on individuals. Participants begin by understanding the concept of being trauma informed and its significance across various settings. They dig into foundational definitions and backgrounds of trauma, including insights from the ACE’s Study regarding adverse childhood experiences and their long-term health implications. The course also examines the connection between traumatic experiences and overall health, emphasizing the role of attachment in shaping development and coping mechanisms. Participants learn to recognize signs and symptoms of trauma, understand its neurological effects, and explore effective coping strategies for recovery. Special attention is given to preventing re-traumatization and managing activation once individuals have learned to cope, ensuring a supportive and informed approach to trauma-informed care. ** Note that all times listed are PST ** Use code DSUT325 through April 11 to save $10 on your individual registration fee.
